Eco-sustainable structure in Trentino
It means respecting the rules of sustainable tourism and, more generally, adhering to the principles of sustainable development. It means recognizing that tourism is an ambivalent phenomenon since it can potentially contribute to the achievement of socio-economic and cultural objectives but it can also, at the same time, cause environmental degradation and the loss of local identities. It means awareness of the value of our natural and cultural resources and, therefore, acting for their protection, for their conservation. This is why we do our best to minimize the impact on the environment of our structure, eliminating the waste of water, electricity and heating. It means recognizing the importance of local culture and traditions. And so, in our small way, we insist on using local products for breakfast.
Our sustainable actions are:
WASTE
In addition to recycling materials such as paper, glass, cans, plastic, batteries from our family, we do the same thing by emptying the bins placed in the rooms used by guests.
For organic waste we use compost.
We purchase carbonated packaged water in glass bottles and supply ourselves directly to the source for natural water with a consequent reduction in waste and the use of highly polluting plastic.
WATER
Use of flow reducers and jet breakers in all taps and showers in the house; installation of flush toilet cisterns with manual stop; reduction of their capacity.
The irrigation of the garden takes place with the rainwater collection tank without drawing on the municipal aqueduct.
POWER
Photovoltaic solar systems have been installed for the generation of electricity, thermal solar panels and a wood boiler that allows for hot water and heating throughout the structure all year round, thus saving considerably. In all the rooms of our structure only low energy consumption bulbs and external LED lamps are used.
SUPPLY
At breakfast we offer genuine products, many of which we prepare with the fruits of our plants such as: fruit juices, jams and pies.
Well aware that the actions taken are a small part of those that can be implemented, we aim to apply further solutions over time in harmony with the growth of our structure.
We use many local products at km0 such as wines, cheeses and cured meats and products of our production such as vegetables from our garden and fruit from our orchards to obtain tasty jams and fruit juices. Our free range hens also give us excellent eggs to make many of our dishes and desserts.
Everything is served in ceramic plates and glass glasses for a lower environmental impact.
We buy water packaged in returnable glass bottles and gladly offer the very good natural tap water that comes directly from the source in the high mountains.
We use flow reducers and jet breakers in all taps and showers.
We have installed flush toilet cisterns to reduce waste.
